Victims Flee To Darien Police Station After Wilton Man Strikes Car

Two victims of domestic violence fled to the Darien Police Station in an effort to escape their attacker after he rammed into their vehicle, according to Wilton Police.

The incident took place around 9:29 a.m. Saturday when Steve A. Campbell, 38, of Wilton, attempted to pick up one of the victims at a Wilton home and while there got into an argument with the second victim, said Lt. Robert Kluk.

During the argument, Campbell attempted to block the victims from leaving the home in a vehicle. He also struck the victims' vehicle with his vehicle as they attempted to leave, the police report said.

The two victims were eventually able to escape and drove to the Darien Police parking lot. After an altercation in the parking lot, Campbell was arrested by Darien Police, the report said.

Following the first arrest, Campbell was also arrested by the Wilton police for the first incident, police said.

He was charged with risk of injury to a child, disorderly conduct, and unlawful restraint. He was released on bail.
